👍👍 Came during early Jan 2024 and it was worth the walk. There is no busses going up during winter season and they only stop at Chusha (the middle shrine). So you gotta walk from there.
Tall cedar trees are magnificent.
I will be back for the summer/autumn season to climb up to the main shrine.

👍👍 The place was divine! I highly recommend visiting in winter on a good weather day. Buses don't have access in winter so you would have to walk over 30 minutes from Togakushi chuusha bus stop. Then another 20 minutes from the Tori gate. It's a very scenic walk.

👍👍 I visited Togakushi Shrine on my way home. To be honest, I didn't really like oyaki, but I changed my view after eating Iroha-do's oyaki. The dough is not heavier than it looks and is light in texture. One by one is delicious enough to be driven by the desire to try all kinds.
