Der Anstieg über die Magarethenallee ist sehr Familien tauglich. Der Parkplatz für den Aufweg zur Burg ist etwa einen Kilometer oberhalb des Ortes. Dort ist auch eine kleine Stehle, die auf die Burg hinweist und ein paar Informationen bereit hält.

Er führt über drei Hängebrücken und endet abrupt vor einem verschlossenen Tor.
Sehr vorteilhaft war die Kühle und angenehme Luft in der Schlucht. In Lana selbst hatte es schon vormittags 30°C.
