近くに湧水場があって飲用できる。
以前は売店等もあって、近隣の大滝村の道の駅同様、｢きのこ汁｣ が、100円で購入でき、道の駅に比べて空いていた為、穴場だった。
ヤマメや、ニジマスの塩焼きもあって、きのこ汁とあわせて 山の幸を楽しめたものだった。
